AKBAR AND BIRBAL question answer Q.1.
Tenaliraman, Mulla Nasruddin, Gonu Jha and Birbal are some famous characters of folk tales of India. Do you know any folk tale ? Tell it to your class.
Ans.
Ans.
Yes, I know one folk tale. It is about Akbar and Birbal. The story is as such Once Akbar fell ill. Medicines couldn't cure him. He felt bored and couldn't sleep. So, he asked someone to tell a story that would never end. When the story would end, Akbar would get irritated. All story-tellers failed to satisfy Akbar.
Then Birbal took up the task. He started his story—In a huge peepal tree, in a jungle, lived five hundred birds. Every morning, the birds flew out to look for food and returned back in the evening. One morning, one bird flew out, phurt..., then the second bird flew out, phurr .... This counting went on for a long time. Akbar told Birbal to go ahead. Then Birbal said unless all of the five hundred birds fly away, how can he say what happened next.
Akbar realized that it was silly of him to ask for a story that did not end. He became well again and the people became happy.
